Membership Renewals

The MTAA’s membership year starts on July 1st and ends June 30th. To seamlessly maintain membership, all renewals must be completed on or before July 1st through your member portal.

IMPORTANT
July 1st (Canada Day) is a statutory holiday for the MTAA Admin Team, and our office will be closed. Members who do not complete their membership renewals by the end of the day on July 1st will see their membership impacted and are no longer in Good Standing. All members are encouraged to process their membership renewals well in advance of July 1st to avoid any issues with renewing on time.
The MTAA is not responsible for any member who has internet connectivity issues that may impact their ability to process their online renewal before the deadline.

MTAA Renewals

Members receive more than 90 days notice to complete their annual membership renewals each year. The MTAA issues renewal notices on April 1st of each year. Members have until the end of the day on July 1st to complete all steps to renew. 

What are the annual MTAA membership fees?

Active Membership $438 plus GST – Includes both your Professional, Commercial and Adjunct Coverage (some restrictions apply)

Inactive Membership $140 plus GST

Insured Student Membership $150 plus GST – Includes student liability coverage.

What forms of payment can I use to pay for my annual membership fees?

The MTAA now accepts the following forms of payment:
Credit Card (VISA, MasterCard, America Express) and VISA DEBIT.

We cannot accept payment by e-transfer, PayPal, Prepaid VISA credit card, Prepaid MasterCard, cash or cheque.

All renewals and payments must be processed through your member portal. The MTAA Admin Team cannot accept payment directly or process member renewals as members must read and agree to our updated Terms and Conditions for each form of membership.

What are the benefits of renewing early?

Each year the MTAA holds a renewal contest to encourage members to process their renewal early. Members who complete their renewals between April 1st and April 30th each year are entered for a chance to win one of the contest prizes.

About Refunds

The MTAA does not offer refunds for portions of unused membership. 

What if I renew early and then find I need a refund before the new membership year begins?

If a member processes their renewal before July 1st and then requests a refund for that upcoming membership year, a refund may be provided. All requests must be submitted in writing to the MTAA before June 15th to be considered. If a refund is granted a $50 processing fee will be removed before any refund can be issued. Refunds requested made after June 15th will not be accepted.
